I wanted to say “thank you” to the person I met on the train this morning…
By coincidence we had individually been confused by the train programming changes and ended up on a train heading in the wrong direction…
My initial reaction was confusion, followed by frustration as I had “somewhere I needed to be” and unsurprisingly my new found comrade was in a similar boat. As two strangers working together, we found the humour in the situation, figured out the solution and… both set off into our day with a smile on our face. I am certain I had a better day because of that moment of “good” and I feel I brought my best to every interaction I had for the rest of the day.
It is highly unlikely that person will see my post, or know the difference they made to my day, however I still wanted to share my story because… well every day there are troubles and we hear about those BUT
in every day there are also moments like these, little moments of “good”, moments of kindness – a smile, someone offering you a seat, or someone sharing a laugh with you.
I wanted to say thank you to this stranger…. And to remind everyone that – if a moment presents itself be kind to another person… take the moment.
You may never know the flow on benefit that little act of kindness has, but know that it does make a difference and well, you feel good when you do it.
It's little things like this that make me smile and remember how easy it is to make a difference in other peoples’ lives.
Keep your eye out for opportunities :)
