Are you building your market niche?

I think life’s too short to try to learn it all yourself and encourage people to learn from each other… so here are some of my key takeaways to save you time.

Today, takeaways from the creator of the Tribe Experience, Stu McLaren (at the recent Business Growth Summit | HerBusiness).  Stu’s niche is building Membership Sites and he had some great insights into how we might build a low-stress, high-profit business. 

  • Consider how you can create a solution to the longer-term need eg sell a stationary bike (to satisfy the one-time purchase/need) then offer a subscription to your online community where they can enjoy the company of other likeminded people to train with them (ie. an ongoing need or benefit)

  • What do you do if your market gets too crowded?  Create yourself a sub-niche… Solve a specific problem within your specialty – you can then “be known for that”

  • When you are “known for that thing” people can seek you out and/or its easier for people to refer others to you too.  Don’t try to be everything to everyone.  Commit to your one thing.
