Who is your ideal customer?

Last week I shared a link to the Business Growth Summit hosted by HerBusiness.  Some great interviews and insights were shared… Did you get to listen in?

Surprise, surprise; I’m ‘one of those’ notetakers… so over the next few weeks I thought I’d share some of my key takeaways in case you missed out.

I’ve always believed that life’s too short to try and learn it all yourself, and forever encourage people to learn from each other…

Let me begin with Seth Godin – I love this marketing guy… (and had just finished reading his book “This is marketing: You can’t be seen until you learn to see” – a great read for anyone wanting more customers).

Two key takeaways for today:

  • You don’t want ALL customers, or even just “any” customers, you want the RIGHT customers.  Remember you are not for everyone, so don’t try to be.

  • First, figure out who your ideal customer is – you can then figure out where you might find them, and how you want to connect with them.  Benefit? You get to focus your energy, marketing and time on the people you are seeking to engage with.
